ConFusion 2020 Round-up!

February 6, 2020 by Robin 1 Comment

Travel in January is always a gamble, so when I heard we were going to attend ConFusion in Novi, Michigan, I was a little apprehensive! Glynn Stewart was scheduled to appear as a panelist and I joined him there along with the rest of the Faolan’s Pen publishing team. If you didn’t know, the team lives in three different cities across Canada, so that meant a lot of converging travel. Kate, Operations Manager is in Calgary, Alberta. Glynn and his partner (and CEO!) Jack are in Kitchener, and I’m ... Read more »

Glynn Interviewed by The Spoke Online

January 9, 2020 by Robin Leave a Comment

Recently, Glynn and Jack had a conversation with Caleb Burney of Spoke Online about how how he manages to be so prolific, his philosophy behind his universes - and how Dungeons and Dragons made him a better storyteller. "This is a genre that I loved, that I loved the tropes of, I loved the style and the feel and the stories that could be told there, and I didn’t like the stories that were being told. And apparently a whole bunch of other people were looking for that slightly different take as ... Read more »

November 14, 2019 by Glynn Stewart Leave a Comment

Introduction Good afternoon and welcome to the live question and answer session to go along with the launch of Raven's Peace, Book One of the Peacekeepers of Sol series. I see I managed to type out the description [for the Facebook Live Video]. That's what happens when you're rushing because you're watching this late and you are an anxious wreck. We've got a bunch of things to get through today. I'm basically dragging this section out, as always, to see who pops on to watch the live stream. ... Read more »

One Million Books Sold

May 23, 2019 by Glynn Stewart 5 Comments

We've been keeping a careful eye on our total numbers for e-book and print sales.  We were over 900,000 and creeping in the direction of a million units sold, so the plan was to send out a press release to the local newspapers when we crossed that line. "Local independent author sells one million books" makes for a nice human interest piece for them and some solid visibility for us.   We were tracking the numbers and it looked like we'd clear the million sale line sometime this ... 2018 Retrospective and 2019 Plans

January 11, 2019 by Glynn Stewart 43 Comments

2018 was the longest year that ever was a year. That was the repeated description from one of the handful of Youtube personalities I follow and I can't help but agree. I have to actually look at the spreadsheets to see what the first book we launched in 2018 was (ONSET: Stay of Execution, apparently. Wow.) Seems like we wrapped up ONSET longer ago than that. 2018 was a year of missteps for us. We ended up shifting our mix more towards Urban Fantasy than we meant to, which hurt our ... Read more »
