So, it is now 2011, and my goal for January is very simple: Finish Changeling's Fealty. I was at 75,000 words at the end of 2010, and the story looks like it will be around 100,000 words. The target for the month is 30,000 words or when the novel is finished, whichever comes first. How far have I got? About six hundred words. Monthly Goal
December Goal – Made it (or close enough)
I am finishing up for December at 74,923 words. This puts me 77 words short of where I intended to be at the end of the month, and I can live with that. Having the goal for the month led me to really push myself to write more this last week, and its been good for me. The monthly goals will continue. Yuletide Greetings
Happy Holidays everyone! So, as December draws past the Solstice and towards the Christmas/Boxing Day Extravaganza, I'm taking stock of where I'm got on my objective for the month. I targeted 25,000 words, and currently have bang on 15,000. I plan on writing some more tomorrow, and am aiming for a couple of three or four thousand word days - I do have three more days of holiday that aren't the 25th or 26th. Goals, Specific and General
So for December, I am at just under twelve thousand words of a twenty five thousand word goal. Slightly less than halfway there, with more than two-thirds of the time gone. Anemic as my progression towards my goal has been, I still think that it has been an essential motivating factor this month. December Goal Update
I intended to post here more this month, maybe even including an actual article to get back into posting thoughts on writing. I even have some new ones on viewpoint I probably should articulate. However, my day job is as an accountant, and its year end, so my out of work energy levels have been low enough that writing is hard, and nothing else is happening! Ten days in, how do I stand? So, coming off of NaNoWriMo, I have decided that I am going to attempt, at least for December and January, setting monthly goals and continually updating here and elsewhere. Which has led to a new tag being set up on the Pen - 'Monthly Goal.'
