Earth is conquered.

Sol is lost.

One ship is tasked to free them.

One Captain to save them all.

When an alien armada destroys the United Earth Space Force and takes control of the human homeworld, newly reinstated Captain Annette Bond must take her experimental hyperspace cruiser Tornado into exile as Terra’s only interstellar privateer.

She has inferior technology, crude maps and no concept of her enemy, but the seedy underbelly of galactic society welcomes her so long as she has prizes to sell and money to spend.

But when your only allies are pirates and slavers, things are never as they seem—and if you become all that you were sworn to destroy, what are you fighting for?

I just finished “The Terran Privateer” and thoroughly enjoyed it as I have also enjoyed The Castile Federation and Starship Mage books. I’m looking forward to your next book!
I do have a couple of quibbles though. During the battle with the two cruisers guarding the research station, Captain Bond was caught unawares by the high missile magazine capacity of the cruisers leading her to make some poor tactical choices initially. It didn’t feel right that she, her tactical officer etc. would have not used their captured intel and/or Ki!Tana to research the enemy warships and be aware of this in advance.
I was also surprised at the end when she was offered the Duchy of Terra that the admiral and the empress did not even address the thousands of A’Tol military personnel killed and ships destroyed by her. I know her efforts to avoid civilian deaths and her destruction of the starkillers were laudable but…. I guess maybe that’s why aliens are alien.
Just for fun – guesses about future books in this series: (1) Casmir isn’t dead and he still may have plans to free Earth from the A’Tol. Plans that Duchess Bond knows would be dangerous to the survival of humanity.
(2)Duchess Bond negotiates to bring Tortuga to or near Sol system to build ships for Earth.
