Happy Holidays everyone! So, as December draws past the Solstice and towards the Christmas/Boxing Day Extravaganza, I'm taking stock of where I'm got on my objective for the month. I targeted 25,000 words, and currently have bang on 15,000. I plan on writing some more tomorrow, and am aiming for a couple of three or four thousand word days - I do have three more days of holiday that aren't the 25th or 26th. Goals, Specific and General
So for December, I am at just under twelve thousand words of a twenty five thousand word goal. Slightly less than halfway there, with more than two-thirds of the time gone. Anemic as my progression towards my goal has been, I still think that it has been an essential motivating factor this month. December Goal Update
I intended to post here more this month, maybe even including an actual article to get back into posting thoughts on writing. I even have some new ones on viewpoint I probably should articulate. However, my day job is as an accountant, and its year end, so my out of work energy levels have been low enough that writing is hard, and nothing else is happening! Ten days in, how do I stand? December Writing Goals
So, coming off of NaNoWriMo, I have decided that I am going to attempt, at least for December and January, setting monthly goals and continually updating here and elsewhere. Which has led to a new tag being set up on the Pen - 'Monthly Goal.' Under this tag, I will be spending December and January updating as I write on my progress towards my goals - 25,000 words in December, and to finish Changeling's Fealt in January, basically. NaNoWriMo Finish Line Retrospective
As of now, Changeling's Fealty stands at 50,141 words. I've met my NaNoWriMo goal. What comes next? Well, accounting exams. But first, some retrospective. When I started NaNoWriMo, I hadn't written anything significant in about nine months. NaNoWriMo; and the scene that’s hard to write
2,098 words today, 47,082 total. Less than three thousand words to the goal for the month, though a LOT more than that to finish the story. One of the scenes I wrote this week was difficult. It was something I knew was going to happen from the moment I started the story, but as I wrote I got to know one of the characters involved better and became somewhat attached to him.
