Fantasy Worlds of Glynn Stewart

Did you enjoy Balefire: A Dark Fantasy Novella and are hungry for more fantasy from Glynn? Well, you’re in luck! Here are a few of his works that take place in magical worlds.

Attempting to escape the supernatural politics of the fae, half-Fae Jason Kilkenny moves to the Canadian city of Calgary. Despite its relative backwater status, however, Calgary is the source for a rare material desperately sought after in the supernatural world.

Jason is drafted by the Queen of the Fae to act as her agent in the city and is drawn into the middle of a conspiracy that will destroy the fragile peace. Calgary’s resources and Jason’s own secrets combine to draw the city into the center of supernatural affairs—and threaten to destroy it!

Changeling Blood is a trilogy that starts with Changeling’s Fealty. It  is a complete urban fantasy  series, plus a novella.

In the world of ONSET, the supernatural has been a secret known to most of the world’s governments for some time. David White is recruited to the USA’s Office of the National Supernatural Enforcement Teams to help keep the peace in this secret community.

Other factions have different goals, however, and he finds himself dragged into a long and bloody secret civil war against the vampires of the United States—and even when he manages to help forge a peace with that enemy, others seek to destroy not merely his country but the very structure of his world.

ONSET  is a complete series of four books, and a novella. The series begins with To Serve and Protect.

Glynn is very well-known for combining the fantasy and science fiction genres in Starship’s Mage. He continues this genre fusion tradition with Teer and Kard, which combines westerns and high fantasy.

Teer was forced into exile in the Spehari’s Eastern Territories after they betrayed his father’s memory, leaving him and his mother destitute. He has grown up on the ranch of his mother’s new husband, nursing the skills of a cowboy and the anger of a betrayed child.

When one of the demigod-like Spehari walks into his bar, Teer gives in to a pointless moment of anger—opening fire on one of the rulers of the Unity!

Sentenced to hang for his crime, Teer’s life hangs by the slimmest of threads: the mercy and secrets of the very immortal he tried to kill…

Teer and Kard is an ongoing series that begins with Wardtown.

Or perhaps high fantasy is more your thing. In which case, check out City in the Sky, a standalone fantasy novel.

Erik Tarverro is a half-breed raised as a smith in the human city of Vidran. Hounded for his mixed blood and denied mastery in his craft, he leaps at the chance to join his father’s people in the Sky City of Newport.

There, he learns he is the only heir of an ancient and noble line. His father’s name opens doors and gathers allies, but Erik must still struggle to understand both this strange new culture and his place within it.

Fate will deny him a peaceful understanding, though, as the clouds of war gather – and his father’s enemies have laid their eyes upon his City in the Sky.

ABOUT THE NOVELLA

Before he was an Elfin Lord—before he even joined that secret group of Mages—Jamie Riley was a Mage recruited by the FBI and the Office of Supernatural Policing and Investigation. A new-minted Inspector sent into one of the most complicated supernatural regions in the country: Los Angeles.

The rest of OSPI’s LA team has grown comfortable with allowing politics and pragmatism to decide which cases they pursue, which criminals they charge—but when Jamie’s investigation suggests that a pillar of the supernatural community has killed in cold blood, he will let nothing get in the way of getting the murderer.

Not even his career.

ONSET: Stay of Execution is available now!

ONSET: Stay of Execution, the fourth and final book in the ONSET series by Glynn Stewart, is now out on Amazon.

The Vampire War is over.
The United States is reeling.
The Masquerade is fragmenting.
The Apocalypse is here…

The long and bloody war with the vampires in the United States has finally ended, thanks to the efforts of the vampire Arbiter and ONSET Commander David White—and a nuclear explosion on American soil.

The final battle proves harder to conceal than hoped, however, and a series of high profile incidents end any chance of hiding the supernatural. Suddenly the world is faced with the fact that it is both more wonderful and more terrible than humanity ever realized.

But as the US Government struggles to adapt to this new reality, old enemies have set into motion plans that could render humanity’s struggles irrelevant. There are those beyond the Seal who were once Gods…and they want their planet back!

Top Reader Questions for Glynn Stewart, answered!

In reverse order, here are your top reader questions for Glynn Stewart answered ahead of 2018:

Question Four: More Vigilante?

Q. The Vigilante Duology seems to end with a setup for future books. Are there future books planned?

A. It’s certainly possible that there will be more books. Glynn and Terry Mixon have spoken about the possibility of sequel(s) for the Vigilante Duology but no agreements have been reached yet.

Question Three: ONSET Audiobooks

Q. I am listening to the first book in the ONSET series, To Serve and Protect, on Audible. It is fantastic! I am curious whether Books 2-4 will be released to Audible as well?

A. All of the ONSET series books are contracted with Podium Publishing. Unfortunately, the schedule for subsequent books hasn’t been determined yet. We are hoping that books 2-4 will come out soon.

Question Two: A sequel to City in the Sky?

Q. I was wondering if you had any plans for a sequel to City in the Sky?

A. A lot of readers have asked if there will be sequel to City in the Sky. Erik Tarverro’s story was written so that it could either stand alone or set up a series. It was one of the first fantasy books Glynn released, and he was testing to see if continuing the story would be viable. However, compared to Glynn’s science fiction books and newer fantasy series, it wasn’t as successful and there probably won’t be a sequel to City in the Sky.

While the narrative leaves the possibility for a sequel open, and we love that the book has dedicated fans, Glynn would likely start a new fantasy universe rather than returning to his older two standalone fantasy works (City in the Sky as well as Children of Prophecy).

Top Reader Question! The Return of Damien Montgomery

Q. Are we going to see any more Starship’s Mage books with Damien Montgomery in them or is he done? It would seem there are plenty of issues in his life that need [to be] resolved. As far as I can see, the 2018 releases just are about Captain Rice.

A. This is our most-asked question, and the answer is yes! There will be two more books in the Starship’s Mage: Red Falcon side trilogy, which follows the cargo ship Captain David Rice finds himself in possession of after the first Starship’s Mage book:

  • Interstellar Mage
  • Mage Provocateur (coming March 2018)
  • Agent of Mars (coming September 2018)

In late 2018, the Unarcana Rebellions series will kick off, with an ensemble cast that includes Damien Montgomery as a major POV character. The first title of this series in Unarcana Stars, coming December 2018. You can also check out the full 2018 catalog at faolanspen.com.

A war older than the nation

An enemy with agents at every turn

An ancient foe with an offer of peace

The alliance with the Elfin Warriors has allowed the United States Government’s supernatural forces, the Omicron Branch, to hold the line against the demons and take the war to the Vampire Familias, defeating them in battle and reclaiming their resources.

Victory against the vampires, however, leaves David White with a moral dilemma as he captures an entire convoy of freshly turned vampires: beyond saving, but innocent of their species’ crimes. Duty only allows one fate for them—but then an ancient vampire arrives to negotiate for their freedom.

Letting them go drags David into the middle of a political nightmare as the Omicron branch must decide which is more important: Omicron’s authority and revenge for their dead, or the very Constitution and people they are sworn to defend…

(Launch discount will only last one week, at which point the entire series will be going up in price!)
